Lester Edward Ozimkowski

Lester E. Ozimkowski is the sole proprietor of Lester E. Ozimkowski, Esq. and a sole practitioner in the hamlet of Northport, New York.

Mr. Ozimkowski is responsible for all aspects of nursing home receivable reimbursement and collection litigation, from commencing litigation on outstanding nursing home and hospital accounts, to discovery, motions, oral argument, conferencing, mediation, settlement and trial. Mr. Ozimkowski has extensive experience in Guardianship proceedings and Guardian related litigation, estate proceedings and Surrogate related creditor litigation, Medicaid and Medicare administrative hearings, litigation and appeals and fraudulent conveyance litigation. He has represented healthcare providers in more than a dozen counties in the State of New York and has appeared and successfully argued before the Appellate Division of the First and Second Departments and the Court of Appeals of the State of New York.

Prior to opening his own practice, Lester was a partner at Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Greenberg, Formato & Einiger, LLP in their Healthcare Reimbursement Department from November, 2007 through February, 2012. From 1989 through 2007, Mr. Ozimkowski was a partner with Hayt, Hayt and Landau, LLP where he was the director of the Hospital and Long-Term Care Reimbursement Department for 18 years. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Ozimkowski has provided in-house consultation to admission, social work and finance staff in order to enhance nursing home staff efficiency and synergy in maximizing receivable collection. He has lectured on behalf of numerous healthcare provider associations concerning all areas of healthcare reimbursement.

Mr. Ozimkowski earned his J.D. in 1988 from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center and received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations and has additionally been a member of the Intercounty Health Facilities Association, Inc., the Southern New York Association, the Westchester-Rockland Health Facilities Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Inc. (HFMA).
