I got a warrant out for my arrest today for a traffic ticket I got about a month ago that I didn't go to court for

Asked by a user in Maplewood, NJ - 3 months ago.

Once you pay bail, the warrant is recalled and the court will set a new court date. You will need to appear in court at the new court date.

You may qualify for diversionary treatment where a dismissal over time is possible. You should take steps at this time to obtain the services of the public defender.

The ticket carries a potential high fine, license suspension, contempt and possible jail. At a minimum you should consult with an attorney.

Shoplifting and immigration

Asked by a user in Brick, NJ - 4 months ago.

You need to obtain your certified disposition from the court to confirm to what you exactly pleaded guilty. You may have pleaded guilty to a local violation which does not rise to the level of a criminal conviction. To be sure, you should re-post this question in the Immigration Lawyers section.

If I have a new York license and got ticketed in new jersey can new jersey DMV impose surcharges on an out of state license

Asked by a user in Paterson, NJ - 7 days ago.

If you received a DWI based on drugs then yes a surcharge to the NJMVC is required. If you were suspended for simple drug possession you probably just owe a restoration fee to the NJMVC.

My daughter needs a lawyer for drug charges?

Asked by a user in Hammonton, NJ - 3 months ago.

You can have the rehab facility write a letter to Camden as well. Hopefully all courts will adjourn her matters based on her rehab stay. The number you have from Camden is only a complaint number.

In NJ what happens if the police destroyed the dash board video and audio tapes and you file a motion of spoilage

Asked by a user in Jersey City, NJ - 3 months ago.

The question turns on when and whether such MVR was requested in the discovery process. It would further help if the MVR was court ordered at some point. I have had DWI cases dismissed after evidence was suppressed due this exact issue.

I got pulled over for nothing but got a ticket

Asked by a user in Denville, NJ - 4 months ago.

Unfortunately the stickers do need to remain on your car. You can plead not guilty and explain your facts to the prosecutor.

I got a DWI in aug of 2009 and now i got another one 01/13/2012 is it more offence since it under 5 years time

Asked by a user in Egg Harbor Township, NJ - 4 months ago.

The passage of 5 years is insignificant for NJ DWI offenses. You should retain an attorney now as you will be considered a repeat DWI offender.
