  • In Georgia How can I have my father's death reinvestigated due to a biased investigator?

My father's death was ruled a homicide. The investigator and DA won't press charges because of lack of evidence even after the man my father was with at the time of his death admitted to assaulting my father which led to an internal bleed and ther...

    Adam’s Answer

First, I will tell you that I am not a licensed attroney in the State of Georgia. If you think there is bias I would first recommend contacting internal affairs of the department that is handling the case. If that does not get you anywhere I would suggest contacting the State Attorney General's office. Good luck.

    Adam’s Answer

In New Jersey, if your car is registered you are obligated to maintain motorvehicle insurance (see N.J.S. 2C:6b-2). Failure to maintain insurance may be punishable by a fine and 1 year loss of driving privileges. I recommend you consult an attorney immediately.

  • I'm in nj no fault state, a driver hit me from behind and stated on the police report that she was blinded by the sun.

Can she sue me, also my medical bills have exceeded 250,000. My insurance I have 100.000, can I sue the other driver at fault since I had to get a level 1 cervical fusion. For more money

    Adam’s Answer

Based on the facts you provided, it sounds like you may have a very good case against the individual who hit you. Even if she did not have insurance, it is likely that ou will be able to make a recovery under the UM/UIM contract provisions in your own policy. Your medical bills in excess of your $250,000 PIP policy may also be recoverable. I would not concern yourself with her suing you, as based on the information you provided it does not appear that you have any liability. I strongly suggest you hire an attorney.

I agree with Mr. Main's answer. 2C:52-1 et. seq. is the expungement statute(s) in NJ. You will not be eligible until 10 years from the date your sentence ENDED.

  • How long does a police background check take in NJ, and if a DMV warrant comes up, what will happen?

I am applying for a volunteer police chaplain position in Newark, NJ. I believe I have traffic warrants, but no violent crimes or felonies. I need an idea of what will happen, and how long it takes for the check to be complete.

    Adam’s Answer

Contact an attorney who will be able to check to see if there are outstanding warrants for you. If there are, you will be able to take care of them by simply posting bail. That should take care of your concerns.

    Adam’s Answer

    Amy,

It is likely that if he left the State and stopped reporting, they will send him back to jail. Depending on how much time he has left, he may be eligible for different programs which could quickly return him to the community. I suggest you have him get in touch with an attorney who can help make arrangements for him to turn himself in, as that would certainly weigh in his favor.

I suggest you hire an attorney. Depending on the position taken by Loss Prevention, you may not be offered a Municipal Ordinance.

    Adam’s Answer

Your mother is the best witness for your husband. If she testifies that he could not have pawned the subject property because she wore it after it was allegedly taken, the State will not be able to meet its burden of proof against your husband.
