My communication with Mr. Hoffkins by my request , was mostly via e-mail in order to contain costs. He was receptive to that and responded to my concerns. During the court hearings (3 in total) his presentation was concise and thorough. I won my case despite the many unnecssary delay tactics of my adversary.
I found Kevin to be a good lawyer who kept me well informed about my case. He communicated with me well and handled himself professionally and I felt like he always acted with my best interest in mind. Kevin treated me more like an individual rather than just another case.I would highly recommend him.
Kevin was really nice during his "free" consultation. However, the day he got us to sign a retainer he changed colors. I had heard bad reps about lawyers, but Kevin takes it to another level. We decided to drop him and suddenly he threatened us about the outcome of the case being unfavorable and how we were making a huge mistake.
We are currently trying to recoup some of the retainer fees, but as expected he is not answering any of our attempts. We are planning to go to the Connecticut BAR association with an official complaint.
Kevin Hoffkins did a great job for me. I had an auto accident in which I got a broken thumb that required surgery and a stress fracture of my hip. He got me a six figure settlement that I was very happy about. He fought hard to force the insurance company to raise their original offer substantially. He kept me informed throughout the process.
For me the most important aspect when you hire a lawyer is COMMUNICATION. Attorney Hoffkins controlled every single detail of my case since the beginning. He prepared my case meticulously. He communicated every single aspect of my case via email or phone call immediately. He trained me on possible questions and answers during the naturalization interview and he prepared the paperwork of my case beautifully. We were prepared for the worst case interview, because we wanted to win the case. We made it. !!! I am a US citizen now!
You need to realize he is a one man law firm that in the long run will cost you more than someone with paralegals. He did not provide me with any documents from court and has left it to me to find them myself. There are a lot of very good lawyers out there, why risk it on this one?
