About Me

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

It was life experience that led me to the law and, in particular, family law. Born and raised in Orange, Connecticut, I was a young married woman, working as a clerk and going to school part time to earn a bachelor's degree when my six year marriage ended.

There was a silver lining to the difficult and painful year-long divorce that followed. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to practice law. I completed my undergraduate degree at Nova Southeastern University in Florida at the age of 30, and three years later achieved a Juris Doctor from the same institution. In 1990 I was admitted to the Florida Bar and in September of that year opened my own practice. In 1996, I returned to Connecticut and was admitted to the Connecticut Bar, where I started a second

practice.

Over  two decades in practice, I've utilized my passion, empathy, and natural curiosity in concert with the knowledge of law to focus on the family. I understand the feelings involved in a divorce: the pain, the conflict, the fear, disbelief, anger, and heartbreak. "As I see it, my job is to take people by the hand and lead them through the dark and back into the light."
