It was life experience that led me to the law and, in particular, family law. Born and raised in Orange, Connecticut, I was a young married woman, working as a clerk and going to school part time to earn a bachelor's degree when my six year marriage ended.
There was a silver lining to the difficult and painful year-long divorce that followed. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to practice law. I completed my undergraduate degree at Nova Southeastern University in Florida at the age of 30, and three years later achieved a Juris Doctor from the same institution.
