You can go forward without him if that is what you mean. Your filing is not going to affect his credit rating. What your filing will do is this- If you are eligible to file for Chap 7 Bankruptcy Protection and ultimately are issued a discharge from your personal debt - any debt that is held jointly by the both of you will become your husbands responsibility. If you are granted a Chapter 7 Discharge , you will no longer be personally responsible for your dischargeable debt only....

WATER BILL

I do not know what state you are in but in Massachusetts if you purchase a home you are responsible for any outstanding liens on the property that are a matter of public record. In this case a water bill is easily confirmed by contacting the water department and requesting to know what if anything is owed for water. In Massachusetts it is standard practice to order a water bill to confirm this prior to closing and to be sure that any outstanding balance is paid at closing by the Seller of...
