I am Executive Director and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program Manager at Boston Law Collaborative, LLC, a multidisciplinary law firm devoted to conflict resolution and the practice of collaborative law, located in downtown Boston.
In addition to my experience as a lawyer in private practice, I have been a trained mediator and facilitator, since 1998. I mediate commercial (including contract, property and employment) cases, provide facilitation and systems design for workplace conflicts and serve as a hearing officer and neutral fact-finder. I also serve as a Parenting Coordinator in family law cases.
I am a member of the Administrative Office of the Trial Court’s Standing Committee on Dispute Resolution (2011 - ) and I teach Mediation, Conflict and Negotiation at Emerson College. I am part of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE)’s faculty for mediation and ADR training programs and I was Co-Chair of MCLE’s Annual ADR and the Law Conference for its first three years (2009-2011).
I have taught mediation, negotiation, conciliation, and arbitration for almost 15 years in conjunction with a variety of organizations including the American Bar Association, MCLE, The Massachusetts Administrative Office of the Trial Court, The Massachusetts Office of Dispute Resolution (now known as The Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration), and Boston Law Collaborative, LLC.
I have designed and managed conflict resolution programs for the Superior Court, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, federal agencies, and private corporations including the Gillette/Procter and Gamble Severance Denial Appeal Program. During my five years at the Massachusetts Office of Dispute Resolution, I facilitated intra-agency disputes and created the first federally-funded Agricultural Mediation Program in New England.
I served on a national team of ADR professionals to develop technology quantifying the benefits of mediation and managed Large Complex Commercial Disputes for cases exceeding $1 million in claims for the American Arbitration Association.
I was recognized as a 2011 and 2012 New England Super Lawyer - a list published annually by Boston Magazine and Thompson-Reuters of lawyers viewed by their peers as being in the top 5% of the profession. Additionally, I was recognized as one of the Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts for 2012 (Boston Magazine, April 2013) and am a contributing author to "Mediation: A Practice Guide for Mediators, Lawyers and Other Professionals" published by Mass. Continuing Legal Education (November 2013).
