I do not recommend Ms. Tannenbaum

My ex wife and I did not have a complicated divorce. The one issue of any significants/importants was the spiltting of our retirement assets. The approach to this that Marcia recommended and executed was wrong. My ex-wife ended up fighting with the IRS over a significant tax bill.

My ex-wife and I were unable to agree on much of anything, with the unfortunate exception that Ms. Tannenbaum was not a good mediator. Although a lovely person, she was misinformed, long winded, and difficult to communicate with. The final draft of our mediation agreement had serious errors and typos (including calling my ex-wife by another name). I got the sense that she used mediation template and just inserted our names. I wish we had gone with a different mediator. Ultimately, my ex-wife decided to take her chances in court with a contested divorce, which was really expensive and took another two years. I really wish it had worked with Ms. Tannenbaum.

    divorce representation

The separation agreement drawn up by this lawyer was so poorly constructed and so vague that it has resulted in my children having grown up in near poverty while my ex-spouse lives a very comfortable lifestyle. She neglected to seek having his free housing be considered imputed income, and he has not been required to contribute toward college expenses, even though his Expected Family Contribution as computed by the colleges is significant. I do not believe that either the assets or the debts were fairly divided.

She also had a tendency to not complete necessary paperwork in a timely fashion.

Ms. Tannenbaum was ineffective in resolving our divorce meditation to the point where we had to discontinue the process after almost $3K in fees. I found her markedly insenstive to men's rights and her legal interpretations did not stand the test of research. Much of what was related to me was her personal opinions, rather than anything which appeared to have a sound legal basis. To be honest, she could not resolve even one issue between my spouse and I, leaving us to battle as if she wasn't even in the room. Finally, I found her thought processes to be quite disjointed, with marked trouble remembering detail. I was, and continue to be, very disappointed in her performance and cannot, in good faith, recommend her to any couple seeking a sound, rapid dissolution of their marriage.
