I have to serve 120 days in jail for 3rd DUI. How much time will I do in the women's Lynwood L.A. County Jail? I have a job and dont want to ruin everything I've worked hard for. This is a 8 year old case that was never filed correctly and now I have to deal with it and was not prepared.
Answer
By law you are entitled to good time/work time credit of 50%. That said, you will likely serve significantly less than 60 days. In fact, the way things have been going in LA for years now, I normally encourage my clients serve the fine out as jail time because it saves them a lot of money and doesn't increase the actual time served.
