How do you prove child sexual abuse?
How do you prove child sexual abuse if the child has not directly said the person inappropriately touched them? Do I have to ask the child did so and so touch you? I don't want to seem like I'm coaching.
You didn't provide enough information for an answer. Generally, no child should be subjected to talking about this to anyone who is not a professional. If you are a teacher, child care provider, doctor, or any other so-called mandated reporter, you have no option: you must contact DSS. The agency will investigate your report. If you are the parent of a child and you suspect he/she has been abused by a parent, family member, etc., call DSS. If you think you've seen something, call the police. If you are the parent involved in a bitter custody dispute and suspect something, call DSS and speak with your attorney. But do not speak to the child.
I would not speak to the child. As noted, call the child protective services in your area.

I would tread very lightly here. If you truly suspect sexual abuse, find the child sexual abuse center in your area. They will conduct a forensic interview to determine if anything happened.
I agree! This is not a do-it-yourself home project. Professionals can help. If you try yourself, you could do real harm.
