How can I properly prepare for my post conviction petition
I filed a 2-1401 post-conviction petition with the court’s permission, and now I’m waiting for the State’s response. One of my concerns is that the petition raises serious prosecutorial misconduct along with ineffective assistance of counsel and constitutional violations. The problem is: my defense attorney from that case is now a judge in the same courthouse, and several prosecutors from my case are now judges there as well. I’m worried about fairness, internal politics, and whether this kind of petition can really get a neutral review. I’d appreciate any advice, strategy, or insight. Thanks in advance.
