How can I get added to my child birth certificate without going through child support?
My daughter is 13, born in VA and I never got around to getting on her birth certificate. I'm a retired veteran and when my daughter was born I was on a 7 month deployment.
You would first need to establish paternity by completing an affidavit of parentage form or through a court order. If paternity is disputed, you would need to go to court to establish paternity and obtain a court order. Once paternity is established, then you can contact the Maryland Department of Health's Division of Vital Records to request the amendment..
