William Hadley Littlewood

Prior to joining the Commercial and Business Litigation Practice Group of McCormick Barstow in June 2002, Mr. Littlewood practiced for nearly three years with a large Bay Area law firm in Palo Alto, California. Mr. Littlewood has managed and litigated numerous complex civil cases. In 2005, Mr. Littlewood shifted the focus of his practice to employment law and joined the Employement Law/Labor Practice Group.

Mr. Littlewood’s practice involves both litigation and counseling clients regarding employment-related matters. Mr. Littlewood has litigated claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and failure to accommodate a disability or medical condition in both State and Federal Courts. In this regard, Mr. Littlewood has extensive experience and knowledge relative to assessing, defending and litigating claims brought under Title VII, the Age Discrimination In Employment Act, and the FEHA. Mr. Littlewood also has extensive experience litigating wage and hours claims brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and its California counterparts.

In addition to successfully litigating matters at the State and Federal trial court level, Mr. Littlewood has successfully briefed and argued matters before the 5th District California Court of Appeal and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Littlewood has counseled clients on myriad employment-related issues, including without limitation, an employer’s obligations under CFRA and FMLA, wage and hour issues, employee classification, internal investigations of complaints of harassment, discrimination and retaliation, an employer’s duty to accommodate a disability or medical condition, and the good faith interactive process.

Mr. Littlewood has practiced before the EED, the Labor Commissioner, the DFEH and the EEOC. Mr. Littlewood’s practice also entails representing public entities in connection with grievances and appeals brought by employees under governing memoranda of understanding challenging terminations and other disciplinary actions.

Mr. Littlewood is admitted to practice law before all California State Courts, all U.S. District Courts in California, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
