Excellent Trial Lawyer

I am a lawyer myself. When I had need to hire a trial lawyer to represent me in a very important matter I canvassed my colleagues and none came more highly recommended than Atty. McGough. It is not an exaggeration to say that Atty. McGough is brilliant. In my case he was required to digest vast ...amounts of documents in a case whose facts spanned a period of several years and whose cast of characters was both extensive and colorful. Tom handled the pre-trial work beautifully. At trial, he displayed a deft touch. His cross exam of hostile witnesses was surgical and his handling of witnesses who were adverse but not hostile was gentle and effective. There was one witness in particular I remember thinking was someone for whom there was no effective cross. Tom's cross was not only effective but he used the opportunity to change the entire tenor of the trial in a way that was incredibly helpful. If it's a bet your company (or your life) type of case, Tom should be your lawyer.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
