To be clear, I'm not his client. He sent me a threatening letter on behalf of his client, which directed me to send all communications with his client exclusively through his office. The letter closed with "I look forward to hearing from you, or your attorney should you have one, and working toward r...esolution of these issues." I responded by email on multiple occasions from early February to mid-April (2023). (All were new messages, none repeated.) Never received one word of response. On the remote chance my correspondence had gone to spam, I finally consulted his office manager and had her confirm receipt of all re-sent emails. I emailed and called for an update on response but never got one. I certainly understand an attorney's fiduciary duty to his or her client, but doesn't the State Bar have rules promoting fairness and courtesy to all parties? A single-sentence "my client asks that I not respond," "My client declines to respond," "I no longer represent the client," or whatever, would seem warranted. Instead I was rudely stonewalled and resolution of the matter frustratingly and unnecessarily suspended by a mysterious breakdown in communication.
