Ended a long drawn out real estate lawsuit

Tim stepped up and fought for me when other lawyers told me nothing could be done and just pay the plaintiff. A friend and myself had owned a building in hopes of transforming it into a business location but things didn't work out so we sold the building. The purchaser assumed our original loan that ...was an owner/finance. After about a year or more the purchaser walked away from the building and stopped making payments on the assumed loan. Taxes weren't paid and eventually the building was sold by the court. Shortly after that the original owner of the building filed a lawsuit against my friend and I asking for monies not paid by the person who assumed the loan. Tim was able to research my case and determine there was no Alaskan precedent for my particular case and used similar case precedents from other western states to fight for me. This was a particularly complicated real estate case and without Tim's extensive real estate law knowledge and determination I am sure I would have lost my case and be paying for a building I don't even own.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
