You get what you pay for

I got what I paid for. Other law firms had larger retainer fees so I went with Mr. Scavuzzo with a lower retainer fee. I had to keep my own records make my own copies and provide copies to Mr. Scavuzzo. Mr. Scavuzzo's office is hourly rental? where he has to pay for each copy and parking validatio...n. So he is reluctant to make copies or validate parking. These were minor issues. The bigger issues were lack of regular updates whether rhere was progress or no progress. You can expect very, very minimal communication and when I asked questions (since I am not a lawyer) he seemed to get frustrated or take it as a challenge. When the case stated dragging on and we were not offered a fast settlement I quickly got the feeling I did not have an advocate just a representative who file the paper work. The case took years and as far as I know Mr. Scavuzzo did no investigation, fact finding or fact checking of his own. The case was strong enough that it won in front of a judge and as far as award nothing was presented by Mr. Scavuzzo other than his bill. When we met with the arbitrator to agree on settlement amount it was suggested then told to agree with the settlement prior to even finding out exactly what the settlement would be. The only emotion I saw was when the government lawyer tried to deny lawyer's fee then I saw fire and willingness to fight. Then when they agreed to his fees then once again I advised to agree to the settlement even though no specific amounts were identified. I am glad the case is over as far it can be currently and Mr. Scavuzzo has been paid so that I no longer have to deal with him. Hopefully my portion with accounting will be resolved quickly and I can put this bad experience behind me.
