Biography
Stephanie is an experienced state and federal court litigator with a demonstrated and dedicated focus on labor & employment issues, and extensive experience providing counsel and advice to labor organizations with an eye towards risk management.
Stephanie is Staff Counsel at the California Teachers Association (CTA), where she practices in the areas of labor and education law. She regularly advises and represents CTA's affiliated chapters in all aspects of labor and education issues, including writs of mandate, special education compliance complaints, arbitrations, layoffs, unfair labor practice proceedings and representation matters. Prior to joining CTA, Stephanie’s practice also included employment law and wage and hour litigation.
During law school, Stephanie clerked for Nashville civil rights attorney, George E. Barrett, whose ethos continues to guide her career today. After law school, she clerked for the Honorable William J. Haynes, Jr., of the Middle District of Tennessee.
Stephanie is a member of the Executive Committee of the Labor & Employment Law Section of the California Lawyers Association, where she serves as Vice-Chair of the Public Sector Law Conference, and Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee.
