Sonia Denae Coleman

Sonia D. Coleman is an award-winning attorney, speaker, instructor, and presenter. With over two decades of experience, Ms. Coleman has an innate ability to develop and build relationships with individuals at all levels and reach a consensus.

A talent for analyzing business practices and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies to reduce expenses, she has been recognized for outstanding performance throughout her career. Priorto the formation of her own firm, Ms. Coleman acquired extensive experience in the Corporate Sector. Her clients benefit from her calm and creative approach to solving problems. She has spearheaded many projects and contributed to the efficiency of corporate processes and compliance procedures, including the redesign of corporate contracts/templates and guidebooks.

Ms. Coleman has successfully resolved hundreds of claims and litigated matters, including health insurance, breach of contract, commercial property and casualty, commercial automobile liability, premises liability, general liability, personal injury, harassment, discrimination, wrongful discharge, ADA, fair employment practices, wage and hour issues, directors and officers, medical malpractice, and real estate errors and omissions. She has advised and counseled senior-level executives on preventive corporate strategies. She has successfully managed a myriad of domestic and international issues and disputes in the United States, Paris, France, and the United Kingdom, including marketing, advertising, consumer markets, corporate real estate, and security. Ms. Coleman has significant experience negotiating, drafting, and revising a variety of contracts, such as hold harmless and indemnification, release and settlement, professional services, master services, license, real estate, and vendor agreements, including multi-million dollar contracts. A persistent litigator, she has successfully argued and drafted dispositive motions before the Circuit Court of Cook County and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, including a published decision. Her corporate experience allows her to combine legal strategy with strong business acumen.

Ms. Coleman earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Howard University and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
