Sevinj Jafarova

I am an immigration attorney with experience representing clients before USCIS and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). My practice covers employment-based petitions (including National Interest Waiver cases), family-based immigration, asylum, U visas, VAWA, 601 Waivers, adjustment of status, naturalization, and removal defense, including Master Calendar and Individual Hearings.

I have appeared before USCIS for adjustment of status, asylum, and naturalization interviews, and I regularly draft motions, legal briefs, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs). My background includes work with immigration teams handling FOIA-based case reviews, waiver applications, and complex removal defense strategy, giving me a broad understanding of how different forms of relief intersect for clients navigating the immigration system.

I hold an LL.M. in U.S. International and Transnational Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law and a law degree from Baku State University in Azerbaijan. I am admitted to practice in New York (2023) and Tennessee (2025), as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Prior to practicing in the U.S., I worked as a legal advisor for the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan, giving me a comparative perspective on legal systems.

I am fluent in English, Turkish, and Azerbaijani, with working proficiency in Russian, allowing me to serve a diverse client base directly in their preferred language.
