I've been in practice since 1981 as a trial attorney, primarily in family law/civil matters, personal injury, wills/trusts and probate. I've successfully litigated, arbitrated and settled civil, criminal, personal injury and family law disputes. Recently there's been an increase of court cases where a party(s) represents themselves, primarily because it appears to save legal costs. In reality, this often leads to significant mistakes and undoing those errors ultimately results in more, not less cost.
