helped my family twice

My son had an unfortunate car accident. The police impounded his car for the weekend. They kept telling my son he would get the car back soon. On Tuesday, my son was still borrowing our car to get to work. I called Ricky. He spoke with the police department. There was no reason for them to still keep... my son's car. The police were not charging my son with any wrong-doing. But the police would still not release the car. Ricky went to court to have the police release the car back to my son. About three hours after I spoke with Ricky, he called me back and said we were free to pick up the vehicle. My other son got in some trouble out in the other side of the state. There was no way we could leave work to assist him at court. Ricky drove out to meet with the prosecutors. He met the court-appointed lawyer for my son's case. He assisted with setting up a reasonable bail that the family could afford to pay. He actually went in to speak with my son, hear his story of what happened, and give my son the "family support" we could not be there to offer. Twice, Ricky has shown a willingness to help. He has compassion. He knows how to work with the system to support the rights of those in need. Because of our financial difficulties, he took only money to pay for his gas for travel. I hope we will not be in need of legal aid again. But if a situation arises, I would always call Ricky first. He would give me the best advice and take care of my rights.

Hired and fired this attorney due to his failure to perform the duties he was hires for

I hired this attorney for myself and my business to handle a few small legal cases. He strung me along for months and never provided updates or any results. Finally, just a couple of days before a hearing, this attorney told me that I'd be fine without him and that I could handle the case on my own......??? Completely unacceptable and explains why I fired him and told him to never contact me again.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
