Rebecca Hernandez hails from the small town of Temperance, Michigan (lower East corner of the “Mitten”) and graduated from the slightly less than world-renowned Ida High School. She attended the University of Toledo and earned a Bachelor Degree in Education with a focus in History and Political Science.
After graduation she headed West to pursue a Law Degree at Seattle University School of Law. With a law degree in hand, Rebecca returned to Southeast Michigan to begin her career as a high school American History and Government teacher. After nine successful years in public education, she took a job with American Public University System, teaching American Government I, American Federalism, Diversity in Politics, and Political Philosophy. In the fall of 2010 she decided to return to Washington State to pursue a legal career.
Rebecca enjoys the workin with consumers because using her degree to help others is extremely gratifying and leads to positive change in the community. She feels fortunate to have a chance to help others in the community through the KCBA-Make Change Program. Rebecca is proud to have learned the value of hard work from her parents, Fernando (Pancho) and Linda as well as her three brothers, Joseph, Patrick and Andrew; each of whom are great fathers to some fantastic kids! In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys hiking the beautiful areas around Seattle and spending time with her wonderful friends and family including her parti-cockers Jesse, and Sidney.
