Rebecca Kristen Eckley

I am writing to express serious concerns about my experience with Attorney Rebecca Eckley in the context of juvenile dependency court. In my opinion, Ms. Ickley demonstrated a severe lack of diligence and integrity in her role. She consistently failed to follow up on critical issues, including vis...itation matters that directly affected the well-being of my child. Despite both County Counsel and the assigned social worker supporting the transition away from supervised visits, Ms. Ickley appeared to obstruct progress without valid legal justification. It became clear that prolonging the case served her financial interest rather than the best interest of the child. Additionally, I observed behavior that I found to be unprofessional and concerning. She disregarded evidence I provided, misrepresented my statements, and demonstrated bias during interactions that were both in court and outside of it. I also witnessed her making flippant remarks about others’ situations in the courthouse hallway, which I found to be extremely inappropriate for someone in her position. I believe her actions contributed to unnecessary emotional harm, delayed reunification, and did not reflect the ethical standards expected of a court-appointed attorney for minors. I plan to formally report my concerns to the appropriate authorities. If Rebecca Ickley is assigned to your case as minor’s counsel, I strongly recommend requesting a different attorney immediately.
