No. No free houses based on misplacing a paper. Sorry. I’m sure the mortgage includes provision stating you agree to honor a copy as well.

Under a VA loan, can a married couple own property with their daughter and son in law? My husband qualifies for the VA loan.

The VA only allows the spouse to be on the property. Also, that is just not a good substitute for a Trust.
