Yes all criminal convictions impact immigration status. The most important question is to what extent. Retain counsel asap.

It won't effect your current status but be mindful of the expiration date of your current I-94.

Immigration law and criminal law are a dangerous and complex mixture. Both prior counsel have given good guidance. Retain counsel ASAP.

Student visas require the intent to return home / abroad. That is contra to an I-130 which requires an intent to remain in the U.S. They don't...

You must show that you have the intent to return home. Financial ties are a common ground of inquiry and basis for denial.
