I was assigned this attorney while I was involuntarily hospitalized in June during a mental health crisis. My interaction with her was extremely brief—approximately two minutes in a busy hallway—and I did not receive a private or substantive meeting where my situation, rights, or grievances were disc...ussed. After discharge, I had significant difficulty identifying her or obtaining contact information. When I eventually communicated by email, the responses did not align with my recollection of events and left me feeling dismissed and unheard. As a patient with a disability in a vulnerable setting, I expected clear communication, adequate representation, and documentation that accurately reflected our interaction. That was not my experience. I am sharing this so others—particularly people with disabilities or those navigating involuntary hospitalization—can be aware and advocate strongly for themselves and request clarification or alternate counsel if possible.
