Patrick C. McDonnell

Patrick C. McDonnell’s practice primarily includes general civil and commercial litigation in Nevada’s state and federal courts.

Formerly an award-winning investigative newspaper reporter and editor, Mr. McDonnell graduated cum laude from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. At Boyd, he was on the Dean’s Honor List and was the lead articles editor for the Nevada Law Journal. He was also honored with the Carl W. Tobias Award for Excellence in Writing, and he won CALI awards for earning the highest grades in his Pretrial Litigation, Criminal Procedure-Adjudication, and Settling Legal Disputes courses.

While still in law school Mr. McDonnell gained his initial experience in the field as a mediator and as a full-time summer extern for the Eighth Judicial District Court Judge Kenneth C. Cory where Mr. McDonnell provided assistance to the court its combined criminal and civil docket.  Mr. McDonnell also worked as a law clerk for a local personal injury firm, a national trial firm and a general civil practice firm. 

Prior to joining Marquis Aurbach Coffing, Mr. McDonnell spent two years as a practicing attorney in the areas of civil litigation, commercial litigation, asset protection, bankruptcy, and family law.

He spends most of his spare time with his wife, Jennifer, and their son and daughter. He also enjoys playing guitar, motorcycling, hunting, skiing, and just about any outdoor activity.
