Christina Marino

Christina is my second lawyer in handling my child support case. I had two different attorneys for my divorce; I wish I had found Christina first. It probably wouldn't have taken so long and the outcome probably would've been better. Christina has been upfront with regard to costs, and I find her ...rates fair and reasonable. She's diligent, thorough and she's always made me feel as though she has my and my children's best interests at heart. After just a few months of working with her (about 6 months now), I can say that ANY time I need a lawyer in this area of law, she will be my number one choice.

I hired Ms. Marino through a referral from a friend of a friend. As you know there is nothing more important than fighting for your child and protecting your rights as a parent. This was a life decision and I wish I would have researched a little more. Ms. Marino at first was very nice and made me fe...el like she was on my side and wanted to fight for me, so I felt good about that and hired her. My case was in Bronx Family Court which she admitted she wasn't too familiar with but I figured it would be ok as long as she represents me well in court. I hired her for both my support and custody case. She felt I had a chance at custody even though I was the father. I told her about some things I wanted to argue in court and she gave me her opinion. She was also very good with explaining the retainer and how her fees worked. So initially I had no complaints. We met one day before the support hearing for about 6-7 hours to go over my financials, organizing receipts, making copies, etc. A whole day at $350 a hour and when I finally went before the support magistrate they didn't care about the packet of hundred pages or so that we out together, all they wanted was my w2 and last two pay stubs, that's it. Either she should have known that and didn't or she took me for a ride either way I spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily even before my hearing began, it was a total waste of time and money. Then she and my ex's attorney were trying to hash out a deal regarding support. This went on for hours in the court house, before lunch and after lunch as we were adjourned until late afternoon. The whole time I am paying for court time and she is having the time of her life, laughing and carrying on with the opposing attorney and my ex. Everyone was having a good time because they were all winning while I was paying. I felt horrible and wanted to fire her at that moment. Long story short we settled on what I would have paid even if I didn't have an attorney. Then when it came to support the longer that case went on the more I realized that she just wanted it to go away. She did not argue points I wanted to make and she became nasty at times and patronized me when I asked a question. She did not represent me well in the custody trial and I didn't need her at all for the support hearing. Overall I would not recommend her to anyone I know.

I usually don't write reviews for anything but in this case it is beyond deserved! Chistina Marino is the most amazing lawyer that I was blessed to have represent me. I was in constant stress and confusion with my previous attorney on a very nasty child custody and support case till I hired Christina... Marino, once I entered the court room with her I realized there was nothing to worry about and all my worry and stress had been lifted and I was able to sleep at night. I will never hire another attorney as long as she is in practice! I would have to disagree with a previous write up about her, she is not a pitbull in the court room but more like a dragon. She walks in there and puts everything on fire! There is no getting past her on anything. she is beyond reasonable, she is a respectable woman towards her clients and cases, very understanding and truthful. A very well woman to work with. I can't thank her enough for what she has done for me and my daughter! I don't think my case could've ended up any better without Christina Marino!
