Salil P Jani

Salil P. Jani works closely with entrepreneurs and start-ups to help them achieve their goals. He devotes a substantial portion of his practice to counseling start-ups and emerging companies on a wide variety of issues ranging from fundamental organizational matters to venture financing. Salil has significant experience counseling high growth companies through debt and equity financings.  He also brings a unique perspective to this practice, as he is a member of the investment committee and an investor in a venture fund focused on late stage venture investments. In his role as general counsel to three technology companies, Salil works with senior management to resolve day-to-day legal issues, and handles corporate transactions and governance matters.

Salil also provides general corporate counseling to clients, and negotiates and drafts commercial contracts for companies operating in industries including Internet services, software companies, hardware manufacturers, medical devices and life sciences, consumer products and industrial manufacturers.  He enjoys advising corporate clients on strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and opportunistic investments. In these transactions, he guides clients from the letter of intent through closing. Salil was previously an associate at Clifford Chance, where he focused on registered offerings, private placements, and mergers and acquisitions. He also represented a publicly-traded multi-series commodity index fund.

Salil serves on the board of the Raritan Valley affiliate of Habitat for Humanity and as the chair of its Governance Committee.

While at Fordham University School of Law, Salil was a staff member on the Fordham Journal of Corporate and Financial Law.
