Joseph G Nichols

BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Nichols is a New Jersey Attorney since 1986 with more than 20 years of direct involvement in diverse areas of municipal and local governmental law and process impacting real property value and taxation including: tax assessment and appeals; land use planning and redevelopment, payment in lieu of tax (PILOT) agreements, water and sewer utilities and related environmental matters.

He has served as City of Bayonne Law Director, General Counsel to the Bayonne Municipal Utilities Authority, Director of the Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority, Legal Counsel to the Joint Planning and Zoning Board for the Town of Guttenberg and as Tax Assessor for the City of Bayonne and Borough of Rutherford, NJ. 

He is a graduate of Rutgers Law School and Rutgers University College and was admitted to the NJ Bar and NJ U.S. District Court in 1986. He is a member of the NJ State Bar Association Municipal Law Section and has completed post-graduate education in real property valuation, municipal law, tax assessment and collection, trial advocacy and computer based information systems.  He is also a New Jersey Certified Tax Assessor.
