Jared Lawrence Apner

When my slip & fall case went into litigation, I was assured that my case would be handled by someone who will be thorough and knowledgeable in their work. Boy, I was wrong. I retained the Law Offices of Jeffrey Hasson for my case because I know they are good— I am surprised that they have employed s...uch an incompetent lawyer such as Mr. Apner. His demeanor is absolutely unprofessional, and honestly ridiculous. He is very jittery, disorganized, and not confident when in depositions. He’s also very racially prejudiced, as a Latino man who has been in this country for 25 years, I speak perfect English albeit with a slight accent. He INSISTED that we needed a translator for the deposition. For the prep, he dragged in a paralegal who was uninvolved with the case and quite frankly, I felt bad for her as she realized I DID NOT need translation services, she was embarrassed for me. Mr. Apner also got upset at me for not getting pediatric medical records from my home country (Dominican Republic), and he was also upset that I didn’t get my entire PCP medical records from when I first came to the US until today. Basically, Mr. Apner gets fixated onto the oddest things that DOES NOT help the case. The man thinks he is an insurance defense attorney working for Opposing Counsel (OC). He is unfriendly, not professional, not knowledgeable at all in his field… I am genuinely utterly shocked he is still employed and practicing. We ended up settling the case for a low ball amount. I am not a legal expert, but consider myself well-versed enough to understand that Mr. Apner dropped the ball. Not to mention, he would constantly forget details of my case, and would call me by the wrong name (he has called me by two different common Hispanic last names that aren’t even similar to my actual surname). I definitely regret not asking the law firm to re-assign my case to another attorney in the firm. Highly do NOT recommend to ever hire Jared Apner.
