Poor Legal Advice, Disorganized, Poor Paperwork, Overpriced at ANY Price. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
The photo of Elizabeth "Betty" Logan in the profile is inaccurate. Any ratings on this or other sites are probably the result of Charles Matison, Esquire reputation and not Betty's. I was referred to Charles but he passed me off to Betty to represent me in a divorce. Paid huge retainer for simple ...divorce. Betty, Charles and staff were never on same page regarding anything. They accused me of not paying the full retainer on several occasions. I asked them on multiple occasions to only use my personal email address but they continued to contact me at work. Betty reportedly spent 2 hours organizing my file but then did not know what documents I provided. I was charged for paperwork that was never provided to me, filed with the court or in my file when we parted ways. Also charged for divorce complaint that was never filed. While attempting to negotiate a temporary support amount with my husband's attorney, Betty suggested support amounts that were completely inadequate and unjustified. It was if she did not review my file, theCase Information Statement and other financial documents. Had I accepted her proposed support figures and my husband agreed to that number or lower, I would have been several hundreds of dollars short every month. Paperwork that I did receive often had other people's names on it apparently for other clients or cases. It appears her business philosophy is to do whatever to unnecessarily prolong conversations or increase the amount of correspondence exchanged to run up her fees. It was if she did not hear what I was saying or could not comprehend what was written or simply chose to ignore it. Not a good business practice if you want referrals. I had already filed a motion for temporary support before hiring her. She and her staff are terribly disorganized and apparently do not know what they are doing when it comes to completing paperwork, filing documents with the court, interacting with clients. The only thing they care about is running up fees and if you catch a mistake, they do not credit you they just give attitude. I spent almost $4000 and no necessary documents were filed, no resolution reached and we did not go to Court to resolve the motion for temporary support - it has been postponed repeatedly. When I confronted her about the off the wall dollar amounts to request for support, she tried to deflect the situation and blame it on me and withdrew from my case before I could fire her. When I disputed her fees, she avoided discussing any of the merits I raised in writing and felt that she fully justified her fees. I realize that in Family Court most of the parties are not happy with the outcome and often blame their attorney. This situation is different. There has been no outcome, the problem here is poor legal representation and bad business practices. BOTTOM LINE: Avoid Elizabeth Logan and her firm. They do not represent their client's best interests.
