Terrible Experience with Attorney David Garnes - Avoid at All Costs

I had the unfortunate experience of hiring Attorney David Garnes for my legal matters, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. His lack of professionalism, responsiveness, and accountability was appalling and caused significant harm to my case. Despite my continuous attempts to communicate and se...ek guidance on urgent issues, Mr. Garnes repeatedly failed to respond to my calls, emails, and texts. He consistently blamed me for delays, even though he had previously stated that certain documents were not needed to file motions. For instance, I had no access to the required tax documents, yet he assured me the motions could be submitted without them. When I followed up for status updates, he never responded, leaving my case in limbo. In court, Mr. Garnes was utterly unprepared. He allowed opposing counsel to dominate the proceedings without any meaningful defense on my part. My issues were never heard, and instead of taking responsibility, he continued to blame me for his failures. I had to do all the legwork, including writing detailed PowerPoint presentations and organizing case details, only to be ignored. Even more infuriating was his lack of engagement as my attorney. Despite knowing my funds were depleted and my physical health was deteriorating, he showed no concern for my situation. His neglect allowed my wife and her counsel to manipulate the system to their advantage. He failed to file critical motions and left me to face the consequences of his inaction. Compounding the issue, Mr. Garnes informed me that he was in the hospital on July 1, yet his office indicated that he was working and attending court. I have a divorce settlement scheduled for July 31, and my "attorney" hasn't spoken to me since March. He dodged all my meeting requests with pacifying text messages, providing no real assistance or support. To make matters worse, Mr. Garnes cherry-picked our email conversations to paint a misleading picture, ignoring crucial parts of our exchanges. He never mentioned his vacation plans when we last spoke, only to use them as an excuse for his lack of responsiveness later. His selective communication and refusal to take responsibility for his professional obligations were beyond frustrating. I had to fire him and request a refund of the entire amount paid. The email evidence clearly shows his neglect and failure to represent me adequately. Unfortunately, this entire ordeal has caused immense stress and financial loss, and I am now seeking new legal representation to clean up the mess he left behind. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid Attorney David Garnes at all costs. His incompetence and lack of professionalism are detrimental to any client's case. Do not hire this man.

DISAPPEARING ACT

Horrible lawyer, he comes to court as promised, never follows up after. I reached out multiple times for almost a year and no reply. He NEVER reviewed my case with me after, NEVER reviewed the judgment. He was fast to take the money, did a mediocre job, and the disappeared. I can not reach him or... his office with almost a year of tries. I've sent text, left voicemails, and sent emails. I would never use him or recommended him, he is not cheap and right in line with pricing of everyone else. I am not worried about the money I paid, have the decency to follow up with your clients after multiple attempts over multiple months to reach him. Horrible! STAY AWAY

LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!

I DO NOT, RECOMMEND THIS LAWYER TO ANYONE IN THE AREA. HE AND HIS STAFF ARE COMPLETELY UNORGANIZED, NEVER CONTACTS YOU BACK OR ASSIST YOU IN ANYWAY. I HAD TO DRIVE TO HIS LOCATION SO HE WOULD SEE ME.I PAID HIM AND I HAD TO DO ALL THE WORK AND ALL OF THE DOCUMENTATION. I NEVER HEARD OF A LAWYER TELL...ING THEIR CLIENTS TO WRITE THEIR OWN DEPOSITION. I SPOKE MORE THAN HE DID AT THE HEARING.THEN HE LET MY SON’S FATHER’S LAWYER WRITE THE COURT ORDER. WHEN HE EMAILED IT TO ME I TOLD HIM THAT I DID NOT AGREE TO 3 THINGS ON IT AND IT WAS STILL FILED WITHOUT THE CORRECTIONS. HE JUST TOOK MY MONEY AND MY SON IS IN AN ABUSIVE HOUSEHOLD. PLEASE HELP GET WORD AROUND DAVID IS OUT THERE TAKING PEOPLE’S MONEY FOR AND NOT DOING THE JOB YOU PAY HIM FOR. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FIND YOURSELF A GREAT LAWYER WHO IS REALLY OUT TO HELP YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I HAD BETTER RESULTS IN THE PAST REPRESENTATING MYSELF. I HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH PROOF TO GET MY PRIMARY CUSTODY BACK, IF HE WOULD OF SUBMITTED THE DOCUMENTS I PROVIDED HIM AND RETAINED THE DOCUMENTATION THE OTHER PARTY HAD TO SEE THEIR ACTUAL ARGUMENT. I’M SORRY MY SON IS EVERYTHING TO ME AND THE FACT THAT HE CARED SO LITTLE ABOUT MY CASE, HE DOESN’T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR. GO HEAD AND REPlY TO THIS SAYING, YOU DIDN’T DO YOUR JOB AND I WILL NOT HESITATE TO POST THE TRUTH. REMEMBER I NEVER DELETE ANYTHING. I HAVE ALL TEXTS THAT HAVEN’T BEEN ANSWERED AND ALL THE EMAILS. YOU TOOK AN OATH TO HELP PEOPLE WITH LEGAL MATTERS , START ABIDING BY IT.
