HOA Attorney Expertise

Dan Barros has been our HOA attorney for the past 8 years. His expertise in each and every matter considering our HOA and all of our 135 members has been exemplary! He ensures that we, the Board of Trustees, follow the law to its letter and are aware of current legislation in a timely manner. Dan'...s guidance in "what do we do with a renegade owner" has saved us lots of aggravation and angst. He is part of our TEAM!

Thinks nothing of breaking the law.

NJ has transparency laws for condo associations, and also requires ADR (alternative dispute resolution) upon request by an owner. Daniel Barros condoned denial of these rights to a condo owner, in fact wrote a letter denying a condo owner their rights under NJ law. The condo owner has spent >20,00...0 defending their position, but Barros continues to break the law.

Daniel Barros rating as a Condominium Attorney is below average

Daniel Barros is an attorney at the Cutolo Mandel Law Firm. He understands some condominium law but is not extremely knowledgeable. The Cutolo Law firm was contracted by the Condominium Complex, Sherwood Court in Matawan NJ. As the complex's attorney, Mr. Barros' performance was subpar. His lett...ers were sent out with misinformation, and at Board meetings he stated procedures that were contrary to our bylaws and without a complete explanation. Homeowners were confused as to what he was saying. Mr. Barros also became too friendly with the Management Company, Association Advisors of Freehold, that was careless and negligent in managing the complex and creating unnecessary legal issues. When homeowners spoke out about issues to him he did nothing. As a result our legal expense started escalating. Association Advisors was recommended by Cutolo Law for Sherwood Court.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
