Recently, I hire her in saling of my house. My realtor recommended her. After the contract, she is always not available. I trusted there were not be difficult. Wrong! I did not read the contract, thinking it's usual. Dumb was I! She made briefing of it. Later I found she skipped the very important m...atter in my deal. The buyer's lawyer made 3 pages long lists to protect the buyer; she did none. The rider was only favorable to the buyer. I, the seller, only was bind by the contract when the buyer can do as they want without any penalty. Consequently, the buyer enjoyed their purchase without any worry of the contract going wrong, since they can get back their full deposit at any time. On the other hand, I could not turn in any application for the rental property because of possibility of losing the fees I paid. Worst part! The buyer violated my right and I asked to write the complaint. She sent an email. Respond ed no apology, but asked info. She hurried to answer to the buyer's lawyer. On the other hand, the buyer's lawyer turned in everything just before the dead line. It is like training you to do as they want.
After that incident, I started doubts about what she said, (everything was in Korean in talking) asking the documents supporting her words. She stopped returning calls and emails. Her assistant was contacting me, demanding the information.
There was a permit issue, but she said, after the closing, I don't have any liability. At the same time, she said, I have to get a permit, no matter what. I fire her and find an another lawyer before it's too late. Then she sent invoices, charging for my phone calls to request her call back, as consulting fee. Her assistant answered and always asked why I want to talk to the lawyer. It takes few minutes to explain, and she charged as consulting. The assistant is not even a lawyer, but acted like a lawyer. She did not even know a terminology she wrote.
Christie Lee told me that her entire bill would be around $500, but billed more than double quitting in the middle. She only massed up the contract. She couldn't request anything to the opponent lawyer. Instead, she yelled at her client who asks to communicate to the opponent and ignored her client. I imagined how many Koreans were taken advantage by her because they do not know English. It looks she pours out her stress of being inferior among lawyers to her non English speaking Korean clients. I wonder whether she has proper knowledge. She is ignorant, lazy, negligent, arrogant, and dishonest. You will never know what could happen in the future, when you make her handle your contract. If you wonder about her work, she will be mad, yell at you, teach you, and stop talking to you.
Do not get involved. That is the best way. If she insisted to receive all her original invoice, I want to go to the court to see who's gonna be in trouble. Those who work in the court will know about how lousy job she did. How ridiculous to charge for the call to request a phone call? I will understand if she returned my call and charged for that. How little she did! She said she worked hard for this case. It looks she worked really hard to find every phone call I made and charged for that.
