Family Case

I had hired Nicole based on AVVO reviews, and honestly it was the biggest mistake I made. My entire time with her being my attorney, I had to do a lot of follows up with her and the office just to make sure everything was on schedule and filed in time. She was horrible at returning phone calls and em...ails. I had better communication with her staff. She would schedule appts with me ,and not show up to them or made the office give excuses as to why she wasn’t able to meet me. Right before my trial, she decides to quit being an attorney. Who does that? Luckily her associate partners at the time was willing to work with me and help me finish up my case.

Chafetz should be investigated

This woman has taken my money, asked for cash, promised to file for a hearing THE NEXT DAY and it is four months later and I still don't have a hearing to visit my child. She does not return phone calls or answer emails. She breaks promises over and over. I feel sorry for Lew and the other staff try...ing to cover for her unprofessional behavior.

Nicole is a combination of Atticus Finch and Mother Teresa

After having my parenting rights threatened by CPS, I reached out to a lawyer who put in contact with Ms. Chafetz. Impressed with her passion and confidence I retained her on the spot. Within hours of our initial phone conversation she arrived at my home to intervene with a CPS worker who was threate...ning my ability to have my children for the holidays. She was a perfect advocate for my family during this tumultuous time. We can now be a family for the holidays and CPS is satisfied my children are safe. I cannot even begin to express how pleased I have been with this outcome.

Non Parental Custody

We were in an emergency situation and Nicole was very quick to respond to us. She was quick to put us at ease and make us feel comfortable. She was very knowledgeable in a Third Party Custody situation and had us in court in two days. It is an on going battle, but now we feel the system works and ...have all the faith in Nicole to see us to the end. If you need a lawyer that knows her stuff and who will fight with all she has for you, then you need to call Nicole.

Client won permanent final custody of grand-daughter. This case involved a writ of habeus corpus: getting the sheriff's office to find and remove a child from an unfit parent who was hiding a baby girl in a house of squalor.

"I endorse this lawyer. Nicole Chafetz has been a mentor to me since I was first starting to practice law and she has been opposing counsel in a highly contested family law case that went to trial. I try to emulate her professional and civility even in the midst of high conflict cases, still contact her regularly for advice, and refer with confidence my cases and clients with CPS-involved issues to her."

"Nicki is an incredible lawyer, and I am very impressed by her and her results. She enthusiastically and aggressively pursues her cases; she zealously advocates for her clients; and, perhaps most importantly, she WINS. Moreover, she knows how to connect with people, and she knows how to make her clients feel secure and taken care of while she does what they need legally. While I live outside of Nicki's legal community, I know Nicki and how effective she is, and would be exhilarated to work for her law firm."

"I endorse this lawyer's work. Nicole (Nicki) is a highly motivated and devoted attorney, whether it is Family Law or Dependency. She has great compassion for her clients and genuine concern for the best interests of the children. She has a great knowledge of the ins and outs of Dependency work....an area which most people avoid, choosing not to get involved in this area of high conflict and emotions. She presents a commanding presence in Court and is highly respected by her peers and the bench. She is very devoted to her clients, whether Dependency or Family Law...a great choice for dealing with your problems."

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Nicki and I have brainstormed on cases regularly for close to ten years, and I have had the pleasure of watching her trial work in a complex multiparty case in which we each represented one party. Nicki is a true trial lawyer who understands that each case is won, lost or settled on its unique facts, and she has both a gift and a skill for understanding the facts in her cases and proving them. Her experience in life and professionally gives her the ability to be discerning, yet non-judgmental, in the pursuit of those facts that will win the case or persuade the client that the case must be settled. Highly recommended."
