Brookland Legal Service

Nicholas Byers accepted me as a client through the Moderate Means Program. My wife of 24 years abandoned the household and left me with 100% of the debt that, unbeknownst to me, was not being paid down with my payroll for the last 12 years. Instead she was subsidizing her family and failed jewelry bu...siness. Nick worked with me in anticipation of an uncontested divorce, but was spot on in filing when it became apparent that my ex retained counsel, and tried to blind side me with motions. Nick was all over it in preparation and process for something I never saw coming. His dissertation and demeanor in front of the commissioner saved me from having to pay the $3,500 attorney fee for the counsel my wife hired, and half of my social security that would have been awarded if nick was not amazingly quick to evaluate, process and respond with surgical clarity. As I said, as counsel through the moderate means program. Nicholas represented me for a $1,000 retainer, that was utilized at $400 a month. I am remiss in divulging this, as I know of no other attorney who charges all that I can afford, and provided representation far above and beyond that of my ex wife, who had far more time to develop their case....only to have Nick put them to shame. Bu far, a caliber of excellence in his profession.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
