Nicholas J. Alvarez

Nicholas J. Alvarez became an Associate Attorney at Ramsell & Associates in 2021. Nicholas grew up in Northbrook, Illinois. Nicholas received his undergraduate degree at Columbia College Chicago and went to Law School at Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego California. While attending law school Nicholas worked at the Veterans Legal Assistance Clinic helping veterans with legal issues. These issues ranged from Family Law to Bankrupcty, and Criminal Cases.

While in Law School, Nicholas was a Legal Intern for Judge Abbey Fishman-Romanek in the Child Support and Parentage Courts at the Daley Center. Nicholas then became a 711 Intern with the Cook County State's Attorney Office in Skokie IL, in Judge William T O'Brien Chicago Felony Courtroom where he oobserved and participated in numerous criminal cases, bench trial, jury trial, motions to suppress evidence, and sentencing hearings. While interning with the Cook County State's Attorney Office Nicholas developed a passion for criminal defense. Nicholas joined Ramsell & Associates in 2021 to focus on his passion, which is criminal defense and DUI.

Nicholas is one of the few attorneys in Illinois who underwent the same training that police officers receive in the administration of standardized field sobriety testing. By understanding exactly what the police officers are supposed to do, Nicholas can provide a unique perspective in the analysis and advocacy in his client's cases.

Nicholas enjoys spending time with his grandparents who raised him. He is an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls, and Chicago White Sox. His interest includes sports, traveling, movies, spending time with friends and family, and cars.

Nicholas is a member of DuPage County Bar Association, Cook County Bar Association, American Bar Association, and The Illinois State Bar Association.
