Worst Attorney I've Ever had.

Neil failed miserably to meet their standards of providing adequate legal representation in my situation. My landlord refused to protect my rights when a group of neighbors got together to commit group harassment and crimes as harassment against me. They did this in retaliation for me getting an orde...r of protection from unlawful harassment against one neighbor who was parking his vehicle directly in front of my vehicle/gate as a means to deliberately block me in or out of my own residence. This is a tactic straight out of the playbook used by LA gangs like the Bounty Hunter Bloods which was where my neighbor was from. The idea being to drive me out of my own residence so he could have my home for himself. The landlord refused to handle this matter directly so I sought relief from a judge who ordered the man to stop, stay away from me, and stay away from my residence or go to jail. The landlord's response to this situation was the he would "Measure my lot". (O_o) The other neighbors then banded together to commit group harassment over a period of YEARS. This included crimes as harassment-theft, vandalism, hit and runs, property damage, and disorderly conduct (trying to start a fight/combat.) More orders of protection as well as the neighbors being convicted of disorderly conduct. Numerous sheriff reports and court cases with evidence to support this. The manager refused to act on verified crimes and evict these problematic people. I sought out Neil when the landlord refused to provide a lease after the gang "leader" showed up representing himself as working for the landlord and speaking on their behalf. "If this were Mexico you'd already be dead" and "Someone is going to burn down your house." and "We are going to get you kicked out of here." The gang was using the landlord to have me improperly evicted. The intake lawyer, Sabrina Fladness, listened to the facts and history of how things got so dysfunctional. She came up with a plan for relief that we both agreed would deal with the immediate problem as well as prevent conflicts with my problematic neighbors. The case was passed up to another lawyer, Neil Poston, who didn't make himself aware of the current situation or the history of violence, crimes, and group harassment by the "gang" nor the fact that the landlord was corrupt and acting to support the gang in their objectives. He threw the "plan" out the window and acted as if he could just ride in, shoot from the hip, and solve the problems. Despite all my objections to what he was doing and all my efforts to provide him with what he needed to know to do what he needed to do, he continued to mishandle the case. The landlord respond with a trumped up list of lease "violations" and baseless claims made by the gang. Instead of rebutting or verifying the truth of these claims my lawyer, Neil Poston, just accepted them. "Just take it on the chin." was his reply though he could have and should have fought for my rights against these false claims. This included the landlord demanding that I remove all my security cameras which had proved successful in providing the evidence needed to have the problematic tenants successfully prosecuted for their crimes or ordered by a judge to cease/desist their acts of harassment. I had all the evidence to successfully refute these false claims/demands but he didn't want to examine the evidence. He failed to get a lease which included the plan Sabrina put forth. This left me and the other tenants being targeted by the gang in a situation worse off than before Neil provided his "legal services". The situation after he "closed the case" proved to be far worse than before. The "gang" and the corrupt landlord began a new campaign of crimes with renewed vigor. I filed a grievance for the substandard legal services with the evidence showing the disastrous outcome I am experiencing. Both the Director/Deputy Director of SALA say Neil Poston provided adequate representation.

Horrible attorney

This attorney does not know anything about family law. He is a complete neophyte. He displayed a complete lack of compassion for my situation. I think that he has only been a lawyer for a year and did bankruptcy before. Don't lawyers need to be trained before they enter a courtroom? They document...s were incorrect, he could not even get the petitioner and respodent correct on a Notice of Appearance. He had to file an amended notice. This is just a basic notice. Further, I do not understand why I had to pay $150 an hour for him to draft the notice and yet another fee for him to correct it. Aren't there secretaries or paralegals to perform this work? I would not recommend this attorney to anyone as he will be the only one who benefits. I am stuck with a large child support obligation because opposing counsel who obviously knew the law outmanuevered him on every argument he tried to make. Be wary of this one.

Child Custody

I'm a single dad who employed Neil and the firm of Gillespie, Shields and Durrant for my infant daughter's custody case. These types of cases can be very difficult for fathers to win and I didn't have a lot of faith going in but we worked through it and came out with a very positive result. Neil al...ways kept me informed of the state of progress and he and I never missed an appearance of any kind. He always followed up with copies of documents and returned phone calls promptly but that's just what any decent lawyer should do. Neil took ownership of this case and really went the extra mile to make sure things went our way. I have no problem recommending him or the firm in any area of practice they cover. Oh, and my daughter LOVES "her" lawyer!

Review for Neil Poston, Esq.

I am very pleased to be able to give a review for Mr. Poston. My child custody case was filled with untrue accusations, half truths, and flat out lies. It was important that my counsel understood the dynamics of my case. Mr Poston "got it" from the very start. His care was apparent, and I never fe...lt otherwise. Always in good communication, and he handled my occasional "melt downs" with respect and encouragement. Mr. Poston's court room presence was equally impressive. Aggressive without appearing arrogant. He was confident, factual, and effective. I am very grateful for his competent representation. I would highly recommend Mr. Poston!
