Benjamin Moses Darrow

I hired Darrow law offices, Ben Darrow to assist my daughter with a legal matter. I signed the contract as her guarantor for him to assist her in this matter. not once since I put up the retainer fee did I receive any kind of a statement showing where the retainer fee had been spent on. After my daug...hter had another legal matter, come up, the matter in which Mr. Darrow was originally hired for was concluded where I asked for the remainder of the retainer fee back. since January I have still been waiting for my refund. I kept contacting his office requesting to have the remainder refunded as per contract, Mr. Darrow had informed me that the retainer fee had been exhausted as he had assisted her with a completely unrelated matter. He violated the contract that we all sign stating that any modification to the scope of work and what she was hired for, a new agreement would be signed by all parties and it was not. Mr. Darrow had acknowledged the fact that he violated the contract by assisting her in that matter and deducting it from the retainer fee that I put up for a completely different matter. After multiple attempts at contacting Mr. Darrow, he stated that I would receive my refund within two weeks. It has been two weeks and I still have yet to see my refund. I have yet again made multiple to get this matter, resolved by contacting him stating that I have not received the refund as per our discussion via text. To conclude, this attorney and his office are horrible at communication as well as horrible at making sure it is documented how the retainer fee or any other money is being spent. If I were anyone looking for an attorney, any attorney that can’t keep his word and behave in this kind of unprofessional manner, I would be concerned on the level of legal guidance. I would receive from this attorney. Do not make the same colossal mistake that I did by hiring this firm, you’ll be constantly kept in the dark and arguing with them to do what’s right as far as returning money that they are not entitled to keep. I have all the communication and promises that this Firm had made in the form of text and a written contract to back up my opinion of this attorney.
