Michelle Renee Brady

I am currently a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, where I draft documents for the Judge, prepare for oral arguments, and research law. Prior to my selection, I served as an Air Force attorney practicing primarily civil law with experience in contracts, labor, environmental, policy, FOIA, disability, estate planning and ethics.

I am extremely well-versed in LexisNexis, legal research generally and legal writing, including drafting briefs, memoranda, motions and issue summaries. I am comfortable with public speaking, briefing large audiences and oral arguments.

I also have 12 years of experience in the military as an Army officer and AH64 Apache pilot with expertise in managing personnel, planning and executing large scale, multinational operations and syncing and distributing limited resources between competing agencies. I have only listed a few of the jobs I had in the Army below in detail, but I served as an air mission commander, pilot in command, platoon leader, aide de camp to a Brigadier General, brigade training officer, combat company commander, assistant battalion operations officer and battalion operations officer.

My strengths are research and teamwork, conceptualizing big picture projects, and timely job completion. I’ve been recognized for superior written and oral advocacy, a successful combat command and relocating, staffing and organizing a General Officer’s tour in Korea, among other things.

I am a goal-driven team player, with determination and initiative, who utilizes critical and strategic thinking to advocate zealously and respectfully for my client.

I am also currently completing an LLM in negotiation, mediation and arbitration in order to increase my skillset. I have found that problem-resolution in which a client wants or needs to maintain a relationship with the opposing party usually requires a tool other than a hammer. I am collecting other tools.
