Michael H. Berendt

Mike Berendt is a recognized employment and labor law expert with a broad legal and human resources background. Over his more than 12 years of labor and employment practice, Mike has represented and counseled businesses of all types and sizes, from F-500 to mid and small-sized companies.

Mike acquired much of his deep and diverse labor, employment, and HR experience working in the legal and HR departments of companies such as Pepsi, Dr Pepper Snapple, and JCPenney. In addition he represnted and advised small and medium size businesses as an associate attorney with a chicago-based law firm. In these roles Mike developed not only his technical legal skills, but also his passion for client service and philosophy of crafting simple solutions that enhance operational flexibility and positively impact the bottom-line.

Mike recently founded his own firm with the goal of using his advanced skills and years of experience to benefit small and medium sized businesses.  The Berendt Law Firm provides sophisticated, client-focused legal counsel and support that minimizes risk and exposure to the many labor, employment, and HR-related laws that apply to businesses.
