I attended law school in Grand Rapids and fell in love with the city. When I'm not working hard for my clients, you can find me trying out local eateries, enjoying the parks of Grand Rapids, or catching a White Caps game. I routinely participate in charity events around the area which gives me the opportunity to connect with people in the community. My desire to help others is what makes me a great attorney.
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and have had a wide range of experience since then. I fulfilled my externship at a criminal defense law firm, completed an internship in Estate Planning, worked in the E-Discovery area of law, and finally settled on Social Security Disability where I feel I help people the most.
While I was attending law school, I gave up much of my free time to help those who needed it most. Two of my greatest pleasures were when I got the opportunity to volunteer at the Ottawa County Legal Self-Help Center and Cooley Law School Estate Planning Clinic. Volunteering gave me an outlet to assist people who couldn't afford to pay an attorney. It was such a great experience, and I realized then that helping those less fortunate was the path I wanted to lead.
I continue to grow in my legal career and having the knowledge and respect of the Grand Rapids courts gives me an advantage over many of my peers. Preparing documents to be sent to the United States District Court has also given me valuable experience for assiting clients with their disability claims. Once I'm admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Western District of Michigan, I'll be able to assist Michiganders on the west side of the state throughout the entire disability process.
