Melinda S. Madison

Melinda S. Madison is the Litigation Manager at Lemon Law Group Partners, PLC, where she has practiced since September 2025. She works from the firm's Quincy, Illinois office and represents consumers whose vehicles have not been repaired under warranty. She is licensed in New York, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Ms. Madison has practiced law for more than twenty-five years, most of it in general practice firms in Quincy, Illinois. She was an attorney at Schmiedeskamp, Robertson, Neu & Mitchell from 2000 to 2008, at Hutmacher & Rapp, P.C. from 2008 to 2012, at Goehl, Schuering & Cassens, LLC from 2012 to 2018, and at Blickhan, Timmerwilke & Woodworth from 2020 to 2022. That work covered banking, real estate, foreclosures and collections, healthcare, insurance defense, probate and business law. At Hutmacher & Rapp she handled banking matters for a local bank and assisted in writing and updating an educational treatise.

She has served twice in the Illinois Attorney General's Office as an Assistant Attorney General, in Springfield from 1999 to 2000 and in Quincy from 2024 to 2025, representing the State in inmate litigation and other matters. From 2022 to 2023 she was an Assistant State's Attorney in Adams County, Illinois, handling juvenile delinquency and abuse and neglect cases. She began her career in 1998 in the insurance defense section of Kroll, Rubin & Fiorella in New York.

Before law school Ms. Madison worked in social services. She was a child welfare caseworker for Catholic Social Services from 1993 to 1995 and Social Services Director at Good Samaritan Home from 1989 to 1993.

She wrote for and edited the Journal of Legal Medicine during law school, wrote for the Forensic Echo from 1999 to 2000, and has co-authored for the Illinois Bar Journal. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and a former board member of the Adams County Historical Society and the Quincy Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Madison received her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1998, graduating in the top thirty percent of her class. She holds a B.S. in Social Work, awarded summa cum laude in 1991.
