Meghan Michele Casey

Meghan spent her childhood in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended high school in Jacksonville, Florida. In 2010 she graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Art History. Meghan was a member of the varsity swim team and the water polo team at Notre Dame, and was lucky enough to study abroad in both London and Rome. Meghan comes from a proud tradition of Notre Dame grads, including her grandfather, father, uncles, cousins, and her two younger sisters.  She also currently serves as the President of the Notre Dame Club of Southeastern Virginia.

As a career as an art historian was not immediately forthcoming upon graduating from Notre Dame, Meghan decided to go to law school. On her mother’s recommendation, she applied to the University of Richmond School of Law sight unseen, and later fell in love with the school’s reputation, location, and beautiful campus. During law school, Meghan participated in the Education Rights Clinic and earned the Pro Bono Certificate for her work with the CMG Foundation, focusing on mediation and collaborative law. She spent one summer interning at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and another clerking for the Henrico County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court. Meghan graduated cum laude from Richmond in 2013, with a certificate and concentration in Family Law. She was admitted to practice in Virginia State Bar 2014.

Following graduation from law school, Meghan served as a law clerk for a year for two judges at the Norfolk Circuit Court. She joined a local law firm following the one-year clerkship where she focused her practice on Family Law. With a goal to expand her practice and fully utilize modern technologies in the practice of law, Meghan joined Parks Zeigler in December of 2017.

Meghan is an active member of the Norfolk/ Portsmouth Bar Association and the Virginia Beach Bar Association, focusing on the Young Lawyer Divisions in both.  She is also a volunteer in the Virginia Beach C.L.A.S.S. program, assisting domestic violence victims in the Juvenile Court.

Outside of her legal work, Meghan enjoys spending time with her husband, Javier, frequently traveling to Charlottesville, Virginia to spend weekends with him as he finishes coursework at the University of Virginia. While in Charlottesville, Meghan enjoys patronizing local vineyards and restaurants. She also enjoys reading, writing, spending time with friends, and of course, cheering on the Fighting Irish!
