I agree that it should stop, but nothing is automatic with DHS. I had a case once that a mother was still collecting child support on 28 and 26...

The rights of the father must be addressed. I usually recommend a guardianship be established in these cases, as this can usually be done quickly....

Desertion is just one of the grounds for divorce in Mississippi. Mississippi only has irreconcilable divorces by agreement, otherwise fault grounds...

I've had several cases where the unscrupulous employer was withholding the child support, but not sending it in. He should contact DHS immediately.
