Mark Hubert Nys

A shareholder in the San Diego office, Mark H. Nys has devoted a significant portion of his practice to representing credit unions with respect to both general and business matters. Mr. Nys has defended numerous credit unions over a broad spectrum of litigation in both the California state and federal court system.

Mr. Nys also has significant experience in the construction arena. He represents developers, general contractors and subcontractors in both residential and commercial construction defect and complex construction transactional matters. He provides guidance in both public and private works projects, including on construction financing, mechanics' liens, stop notices, and enforcement actions.

Mr. Nys' practice includes experience defending large automobile dealerships in a variety of legal issues, including lemon law and auto financing disputes. Mr. Nys also defends mobile home parks and homeowner's associations from liability arising from resident litigation. In addition, he has experience litigating intellectual property disputes, and is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Originally from Santa Maria, California, Mr. Nys graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 1985 with a B.A. in Chemistry. Graduating Phi Beta Kappa, Mark was a 4-time NCAA All-American in both singles and doubles tennis. He then attended the University of California at Irvine, where he received his Graduate Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management before moving on to California Western School of Law and earning his Juris Doctorate in 1997.
