I hired this lawyer to represent me at the closing of a parcel of land I was buying from my contractor. However, in order to buy the land I had to agree to a deed restriction stipulating that I would not build a house on the parcel. At the closing my lawyer asked "are you sure?" As I was not i...nformed of the consequences of agreeing to the restriction, I told him that I did not intend to build a house. I did not understand that this restriction would prevent Anyone from building a house. Now I am stuck with paying the taxes on the land I paid $80,000 without being able to sell the property. If my attorney had fully informed me of the consequences of agreeing to , in effect, "give up my property" I would NEVER have agreed. This lawyer's egregious incompetence cost me $80,000 plus tens of thousands in taxes. I would never recommend him to anyone!
