Mariela and her law staff did an outstanding job on a difficult immigration case for our family. She was methodical, detailed and kept us informed every step of the way even though we were in Washington State and she was in Denver Colorado. She worked hard and tirelessly for us. Mariela was instrumental in my very complex custody case. As a father, I found myself in every parent’s worst nightmare: The other parent (mother) absconded with my daughter to a different state (California.) The second I found out mother had taken my daughter, I called Mariela and she immediately be...gan advising me on what steps to take to protect my rights as a father (knowing there was no custody order in place.) She filed a motion for abduction prevention measures and establishment of parental responsibilities the same day. This might have singlehandedly been the difference between Jurisdiction being in Colorado vs. California (and quite frankly the outcome of the case entirely.) Ultimately, Colorado was awarded jurisdiction, which really bolstered our case and prevented me from having to fly to California to have my day in court. She knew how important it was not to hesitate. She continued her counsel and ultimately her advisory role until I was awarded custody of my daughter.
